For years I have been influenced by urban landscapes. Now I seek to influence natural landscapes with my urban inspired concrete on linen and canvas works. I seek to challenge the concept of landscapes and the perception of space by blurring the lines between the urban and nature.
Since December, 2017 I have traveled more than twenty-two thousand miles across the United States and Canada to immerse my works in rivers, forests, grasslands, canyons and the Pacific, Atlantic and Arctic Oceans.
This immersion infuses within the work a visible history of its surroundings. And through photography and video a narrative emerges of the of the work’s history and the landscape that surrounds it.
